CRITICAL MANAGEMENT STRATEGIES FOR CURRENT TIMES Darcie Harris, Founder & CEO, EWF International
PRESENTATION SUMMARY Even the mediocre can be successful during a thriving economy. During uncertain times you need to be at your best. Those who understand the need for the right strategy, combined with effective execution and a culture of accountability will be able to seize the opportunity to grow as the economy weeds out those who can’t perform. Drawing on years of experience of working with hundreds of female business owners, Darcie Harris, founder and CEO of EWF International, will challenge workshop participants to embrace the current economic market as a critical juncture to learn how to manage their businesses more effectively and efficiently.
THREE LEARNING OBJECTIVES
1. To learn essential focus points necessary to run their businesses successfully during uncertain economic times 2. To learn the components of a successful strategic plan and ninety day plan 3. To learn the essentials of personal accountability and how to develop a culture of joint accountability in their companies
SPECIFIC BENEFITS Participants will: 1. Gain the ability to replace fears created by a soft economy with the confidence and management tools necessary to lead and succeed 2. Learn to focus on results (rather than activity) and on the specific key indicators they need to measure in their businesses 3. Understand the principles of personal and joint accountability to achieve their desired results
HOW AUDIENCE WILL INTERACT WITH ONE ANOTHER
• Participants will form small groups for experiential exercises and discussion to learn the essential management tools
WHY THIS TOPIC IS ESSENTIAL
• Recent economic developments have created an atmosphere of fear. When we are fearful we cannot lead with confidence and will make poor decisions. The best antidote to fear is knowledge and education. When people are educated they gain confidence, and with confidence they can lead, rather than descend into reactive behavior. Many business owners do not understand the importance of having a strategic plan or are intimidated by the concept. If they do have a plan, it often sits on a shelf and gathers dust. Participants learn how to develop a strategic plan, a ninety-day plan, and how integrate the plan into day to day operations. They will understand how to use their plan to inspire increased employee commitment and accountability.
